Privacy Policy

Kippi is a memory assistant that helps you turn a few minutes of talking or typing into a page worth keeping. This is a plain-language summary of what we collect, why, and the control you have. We’ll keep it honest and update it as Kippi grows.

What we collect

• Your pages. The entries you write or record, the generated pages, and related details (tags, dates, reminders, recaps).
• Optional photos. If you choose to add a photo to a page, we store that image privately with the entry it belongs to — at most one photo per page. Photos are optional; Kippi never accesses your camera or photo library unless you tap to add or change a photo. We do not use your photos for advertising, and we do not send them to AI providers to draft your page.
• What you say.The text you type, and — if you use voice — the audio is converted to text so Kippi can draft your page. We don’t keep the audio after it’s transcribed.
• Account basics. If you save your book with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and a sign-in identifier. We never see your Google or Apple password.
• Feedback. If you use Send feedback in the app, we store the category and message you submit, plus basic context such as your app version and the screen you were on. If you are not signed in with an email, you may optionally include a contact address so we can reply.
• Basic usage. Minimal technical data needed to run the service reliably.

Device permissions

Kippi only asks for device access when a feature needs it, and only after you choose to use that feature:

• Microphone — for voice journaling and live voice conversation. Audio is processed in real time to create text; we do not store the recording.
• Camera — only when you tap to take a photo for a journal page.
• Photo library — only when you tap to choose an existing photo for a journal page.

You can decline any permission and still use Kippi; you just won’t be able to use that specific input (for example, voice or photos) until you allow it in iOS Settings.

Using Kippi without an account

You can start using Kippi without signing in. Your pages are tied to an anonymous identifier on your device until you choose to save your book with Google or Apple, which keeps the same pages attached to you.

How AI is involved

Kippi uses an AI provider (Anthropic) to ask follow-up questions and draft your page. The words you type or speak are sent to that provider to do this. If you use voice, audio may be sent to Deepgram to turn speech into text. If you use the live voice conversation, your microphone audio is also streamed in real time to our voice provider (OpenAI) so Kippi can hear you and talk back — we don’t store the audio recording. Where your data lives

Your pages and optional photos are stored with our backend provider (Supabase). Page text lives in your account’s database records; photos are kept in private storage tied to the entry they belong to and are shown to you through short-lived, secure links. Access is protected so that only you can read your own content. We don’t sell your entries or photos, and we don’t use them for advertising.

Your choices

• Delete.You can delete any page — including its photo — or your whole account right inside Kippi (You → Delete my account). Deleting a page removes that page’s photo from our systems. Account deletion removes your journal pages and related account data.
• Change or remove a photo. On any saved page, you can replace or remove the photo without deleting the page itself.
• Export. You can request a copy of your pages.

Cookies & local storage

Kippi keeps a small amount of data in your browser to remember your session. We don’t use third-party advertising trackers.

Children

Kippi isn’t directed to children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
